Terms of Service

Effective date

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are effective as of the date displayed on this page and govern your access to and use of SilentLake Academy courses, memberships, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old or the age of majority in your jurisdiction (whichever is higher) to use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent and warrant that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

Accounts

You are responsible for safeguarding your account and for any activity under your credentials. Use a strong password and do not share it with others. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.

• You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
• You are responsible for maintaining and updating your information as needed.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these Terms or suspected fraudulent activity.

Payments and refunds

All prices are listed in USD and, unless stated otherwise, exclude taxes, levies, and duties which may be charged based on your billing address. Payments are processed by our third‑party providers; by purchasing, you authorize them to charge your selected payment method.

• Refund window: If you are unsatisfied within 7 days of purchase and have completed less than 20% of the content, contact us for a refund review.
• Subscriptions: If your plan is subscription‑based, it renews automatically unless cancelled before the next billing date.
• Chargebacks: Filing an unwarranted chargeback may result in account suspension and collection of associated fees.
• Discounts and coupons are promotional and may be modified or revoked at any time.

Acceptable use

• No unlawful activities or attempts to disrupt the service.
• No redistribution, resale, or public sharing of course materials without written permission.
• No automated scraping or bulk data extraction without our consent.
• Do not impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation with any entity.

User content and license

You retain ownership of content you submit (e.g., project files, comments). By submitting content, you grant us a worldwide, non‑exclusive, royalty‑free license to host, display, and use it solely to operate and improve the Service. You represent that you have all necessary rights to grant this license and that your content does not infringe third‑party rights.

Intellectual property

All course videos, text, code, assessments, designs, and trademarks are owned by SilentLake Academy or its licensors and protected by law. Except as explicitly permitted, you may not copy, modify, translate, or create derivative works from our materials.

Privacy and data

We process personal data as necessary to provide the Service, including account setup, payments, and support. We apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Use caution and do not share sensitive data unnecessarily.

Third‑party services

The Service may reference or integrate third‑party tools. Your use of those tools is governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for third‑party content, availability, or practices.

Disclaimers

We provide educational content “as is”. We do not guarantee specific business outcomes, employment, grades, or financial results. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non‑infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SilentLake Academy and its affiliates shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or loss of profits, revenues, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of USD $100 or the amount you paid to us in the 3 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless SilentLake Academy and its affiliates from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable laws.

Term, suspension, and termination

These Terms remain in effect while you use the Service. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time for any reason, including non‑payment, suspected fraud, or violation of these Terms. You may terminate by closing your account and ceasing use. Provisions which by their nature should survive (e.g., IP, disclaimers, limitations, and indemnities) shall survive termination.

Changes to the Service and to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be effective no sooner than 7 days after notice, except changes addressing new features or legal requirements, which are effective immediately. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Governing law

These terms apply globally and will be interpreted to the extent permitted by your local laws. Where required, local mandatory consumer protections will prevail.
